Join us for this introductory event to learn more about the College of Engineering Neurodiversity Initiative. The COE Neurodiversity Initiative offers students who self-identify resources in belonging on campus, social and emotional support, and co-op skills.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- COE students who self-identify as neurodiverse, including, but not limited to, students who are autistic, ADHD, dyslexic
WHY THEY SHOULD ATTEND
- To learn more about the Neurodiversity Initiative and our services with our student coaches, meet the NI team, and establish community.
BENEFITS OF NEURODIVERSITY INITIATIVE SUPPORT
- Heightened acceptance and diminished stigmas of concealed disabilities
- Early identification and support for students for co-op
- Strengthened sense of belonging
- Elevated participation in co-op
- Greater diversity and improved operational agility for employers
- Enhanced employment prospects, economic independence, and autonomy after graduation
- Dissemination of neurodiversity best practices for broader adoption
- Increased retention of neurodivergent students
- Establishment of a common understanding for creating sustainable and mutually beneficial employment matches
- There is no diagnosis or fee required
