Northeastern University Programs in Multicultural Engineering
NUPRIME, which stands for Northeastern University Programs in Multicultural Engineering, is committed to cultivating and supporting belonging and academic excellence at Northeastern University. For over 40 years, NUPRIME has been committed to helping students fulfill their potential, academically and professionally.
“To encourage belonging, you need to provide formal and informal mentoring, networking opportunities, organizations, and clubs that make students feel they’re part of a larger community.”Richard Harris, associate dean and director of NUPRIME
NUPRIME advises to two nationally recognized engineering student chapters on Northeastern’s campus, including the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
To ease the challenging transition from high school to college, Northeastern’s College of Engineering participates in the Summer Bridge Program for entering first-year engineering students.
NUPRIME provides both a link and a connection to undergraduate domestic and international research opportunities in partnership with the Northeast Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program. Visit Northeastern University’s LSAMP website.
NUPRIME connects students to graduate engineering opportunities through the National Consortium for Graduate Degrees for Minorities in Engineering and Science (GEM), and the LSAMP STARS Bridge to the Doctorate Program at Northeastern.
